Kiehl's Acne Blemish Control Daily Skin-Clearing Treatment

Kiehl's is a brand that I've been attached to for many years now. I really like their herbal toners; and when I went back to Kiehl's to pick up another, I got introduced to the Acne Blemish Control Treatment. I've always had, combination/oily skin, which means that I do break out regularly if I'm not careful. So I'm always down for blemish control treatments! The sales person was really smooth with words, and I thought why not give it a go.

The consistency and texture is a milky white, water-based like formulation. It is really light and does not clog pores, which would defeat its purpose. It does have a slight medicinal scent to it but it is barely noticeable and it goes away after a few minutes. I was actually having a really bad breakout at that time of my life. It could be the weather, or the climate change because I was traveling. But I was not happy with my skin. After applying this overnight, my skin looked soooo much better in the morning! Like no joke. It reduced my redness and calmed down my active breakouts! In about 10 days I had no more active breakouts. I thought it was a miracle worker, especially seeing results so fast as the next day. It's been 3 years now since then and I still have this in my cabinet. I have 2 backups in my drawers and it is definitely one of my holy grail products. I'm currently on my 3rd tube and I will forever be loyal to this product.

I also realized that the longer I use it, the lesser I have to apply it. As if my skin is getting better as well. But I'm no dermatologist. I don't use it on a daily basis anymore, only if I have quite a bit of treating to do. It is $30 for a 1 fl. oz. tube, so it is more pricey but a little goes a long way and it is so worth it if you want acne-free skin! It is an ahh-may-zing product and I think I couldn't live without it! If your skin is similar to mine, I highly, HIGHLY, recommend!!

Nivea Lip Butters

As a lip product junkie, there is no way that I would walk pass the newly released Nivea Lip Butters without picking one, or two ;), up. The only review or mention about this product before I purchased one for myself was from Ingrid, or missglamorazzi on YouTube. She really likes them, and because I usually like the products she recommends, I thought I'd give it a go. I got two of the Raspberry Rose Kiss ones because I wasn't a huge fan of the other two flavored ones (they were too sweet for my taste) and the unflavored one is just too pricey for it's function. (As I said, I'm a lip product junkie, I have toooooo much to be going on buying yet another basic lip conditioner.) The reason why I got two of the Raspberry Rose Kiss ones was that it was on sale 2 for $5; one itself was $3.99, so I thought, why not. So I gave that one to my mommy.

The scent of it is really nice, I really like it. It's fresh, rosey, but not so much the raspberry flavor though. I also really like the consistency of the lip butter. It's stickier than a traditional lip butter, but not as sticky as a lip gloss could be. In terms of conditioning, I do see good results when applying this at night. But I wouldn't say it is extremely moisturizing for my lips. It's an okay lip conditioner. As for color, this looks pale pink in the tin, and I was hoping that it would turn somewhat clear when applied to the lips. No, it doesn't. The only thing that disappointed me was the color. It made my lips a pale pinkish/purple color that did not look attractive at all. This was also the reason why I decided to be more lenient and apply it before I go to sleep. I wouldn't suggest walking out of the house with this on unless you have a dark lip color underneath. I've tried many Nivea lip products before, the ones in a tube, and I much prefer those over the lip butter. It's more sanitizing and it really conditions my lips. From Nivea, I would recommend the Milk & Honey, the Essential Lip Care, as well as the Kiss of Smoothness (with SPF4). When I run out of this tin, I probably wouldn't repurchase unless the formula changed or something. But it did fulfill my curiosity. Overall, I wouldn't say it is an amazing product, but it isn't a bad product either. If you are still curious, then go ahead and get it, but I do recommend keeping track of your receipt.

shu uemura Cleansing Oils

My mommy is a skincare addict; and growing up with her, naturally I became one too. I was exposed to shu uemura skin care, especially their cleansing oils, way back in middle school, yes middle school. (And I'm now in college.) So after 7 years of using this product, I think it's safe to say that I have a pretty good grip of what I'm doing here. Here's a little background information. shu uemura is a Japanese brand, and unfortunately it could be hard to get you hands on it in the western hemisphere. In Asia, shu uemura is like America's Chanel, Estee Lauder, and Lancome. So yeah, it's pretty huge!

shu uemura is most famous for their cleansing oils; and I believe it is among the first, if not the first, to develop an oil that cleanses. How it works: first you take a pump or two of the product, massage it into your skin, take a little bit of warm water and massage a bit more. The oil will emulsify into a milky color and then you would rinse off. This cleansing oil effectively removes all the makeup on your skin, including waterproof eyeliners and mascaras. I also love how it works so well while being so gentle to the skin. I have oily/acne prone skin and I've always been aware of products that could break me out, especially oils that could potentially clog pores. However, this product does not do so. In fact, not only does it remove the makeup on the surface of my face, but it also clean my pores. I really like how my skin feels after using this product. Like I've said, I've used it for 7 years now and I will continue using it.

In the same line of cleansing oils, there are actually 6 different types. Each of them have a specific function, in addition to what it's supposed to do. For example, the purple one below, its the "whitefficient clear bright," which lightens up dark spots and brightens your complexion. I have also used the pink one and the green one. All the ones I've tried works wonderfully. There are others and you can see them in the second picture below. I won't go into further detail but you can check them out at shuuemura-usa.com. The price  depends on the size and the specific type you choose. For the pink 450mL bottle it is $67; for the purple 450mL bottle it is $81. So it really depends on the one you choose. Since I only use this product when I need to remove my makeup, a 450mL bottle can last me a whole year. For how well it works, it is totally worth it for me. I will forever be loyal to this product because I love it so much!

Kiehl's Creme de Corps

Heading into the winter months, I didn't really think I needed a thicker body lotion or a body cream so I just stuck with my Johnson and Johnson's Baby Lotion in Honey Apple. Mhmm, just like the name, it smells just like apple cider mixed in with honey! Anyways, as November almost came to an end, I started to realize that my right arm began to have a rough patch and it definitely did not feel good or look good at all. And thats when I decided I do need a winter body cream.

Many of you may know of this product already, so did I, and it has won many awards before. And here is my take on it.

Coincidentally, I was on Hautelook that day...(not that I'm ever on it..;))..and I saw "Today's Pick." I was thrilled to see Kiehl's Creme de Crops (Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter) on sale for $55 for a double 8oz. pack!! My heart almost stopped breathing. Usually, this retails for $48 for one tub, and just an additional $7 I got two of them! I was soooo excited! It was a total bargain. I gave one to my mom and I kept on to myself. This stuff smells...divine! It smells sumptuous and funny story, my boyfriend liked the smell so much that he tasted a tiny bit of it. Yeah, smells good but not so much for the taste. In less than a week, the dry, rough patch on my right arm went away! My skin was smooth and so moisturized, and smelling good is always a bonus! Another good thing about this product is that it does not contain any paraben, silicones, or glycols. Paraben are basically preservatives, which helps a product last longer. Just like the preservatives in canned foods. So with that being said, this product is more on the natural side, which is why it is expectedly on the pricier side. However, when thinking of the good it does to my skin and how positive my skin is reacting to it, I think it is worth the price. (A little goes a long way!) I probably won't use it in the summer, just because personally I prefer lighter lotions in the warmer months. But if I run out and the weather happens to be in the cooler months, I would definitely repurchase this over and over again. It smells wonderful, works amazingly, and does what it claims.

Thanks for checking out my blog!
